The new jury of experts from the industry of press and communication at the Lucca Film Festival e Europa Cinema 2021: participation will be online
The Lucca Film Festival e Europa Cinema opens its doors to the first jury formed by experts from the industry of press and communication. This jury will have the task of awarding the “Marcello Petroziello” Award during the International Short Film Competition. The 2021 edition will be held from October 1st to 10th, both in Lucca and online. The Festival has decided to dedicate this edition to the renowned journalist and great communicator from Lucca, who recently passed away. He held the position of coordinator at the Press Office and Public Relations of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio of Lucca. His personality is remembered as the meeting point between the passion for cinema, the strategies linked to the world of communication, and the commitment to enhance Italian culture and the territory of Lucca abroad, too.
How to join the jury online
The Lucca Film Festival e Europa Cinema 2021, which will take place from October 1st to 10th, 2021, presents the new press jury for the International Short Film Competitions presented as Italian premieres. The jury will be open to anyone wishing to join and working in the field of communication and press. The jury will have the task of awarding the “Marcello Petroziello Award” to one of the approximately 18 competing short films that will be presented as Italian premieres.
It will be possible to join the jury and participate online from any part of the world, thanks to the partnership with the international online platform Festival Scope, that will allow you to see the competing short films anywhere, on demand and for free. The addressees to this announcement are journalists, publishers, Italian and foreign bloggers. The discounts for accommodation and travel are also applied to professional support figures (e.g. photographers, Italian and foreign TV crews), when strictly connected to the realization of the outputs (e.g. TV services; documentaries, clips, photos, etc.).
The online partecipation
The short films will be available on the online platform exclusively from October 1st to 9th, 2021. The staff of the Lucca Film Festival will send an evaluation form through a special e-mail to each member of the virtual jury. After the film, the jury will record its evaluation based on a scale from 1 to 5 on the form, where it will also be possible to motivate that evaluation. The form must be signed and sent to pressjury@luccafilmfestival.it.
To make the participation in the jury valid, it is necessary to take part in all the competing screenings. The jury member will also be required to participate online in the final discussion. together with the jury coordinators, the jury members who will be present physically, and the selectors of the competition. This discussion will determine the winner of the new Award as aforementioned.
If the jury members were not to fill in entirely, sign and return the evaluation forms of the competing films, they will be automatically excluded from the jury and will not be able to participate in the final discussion.
Jury entry procedure
Each member of the press and communication jury can access all the activities of the Festival for free, which will be viewable on online streaming. Registration for the jury must be completed by September 26th, by sending an email to segreteria@luccafilmfestival.it.
Certification of participation in the press and communication jury
In the weeks following the event, each jury member will receive a certificate from the Festival, certifying their participation in the jury.
