On Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Lucca’s historic center will be transformed into an open-air set for Lucca Effetto Cinema, a unique evening dedicated to the world of cinema and the performing arts. > EVENT MAP
Under the artistic direction of Irene Passaglia, seventeen theater and dance companies will present exclusive performances, each inspired by a famous film and paired with one of the venues in the historic center. An extraordinary opportunity to experience the magic of the big screen in a charming urban setting.
The most deserving performances will be awarded on Sunday, September 28, during the Lucca Film Festival.
In addition to the numerous performances that will liven up every corner of the city, this year’s program also offers events such as 90’s Reloaded Cult Edition – When Cinema Becomes Legend, which will include a DJ set curated by DJ QGINO in the garden of the Antico Caffé delle Mura, and the Salotto LEC event, at the Atrio Confcommercio Lucca Massa e Carrara, from September 23rd to 26th from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, a space curated by Agua Amaranta Nannizzi and Stefano Cosimini of the Neon Film and Arts association. This space will explore the behind-the-scenes of the Lucca Film Festival and Lucca Effetto Cinema, through talks and informal interviews with important guests and content creators from the film world, which will explore the themes of the anniversaries celebrated in this edition.
