VIVA AUDER – La musa di Warhol

Janet Susan Mary Hoffman nata a Syracuse, New York, nel 1938 da  una famiglia cattolica romana. Il nome Viva le fu dato Andy Warhol. È apparsa in diversi film di Warhol tra i quali Blue Movie, Nude Restaurant, Lonesome Cowboys e fu spesso ospite e regina della  “factory”. Dopo ha cominciato facendo film per altri registi, come Woody Allen, Mel Gibson, Pierre Clémenti, Wim Wenders, Agnès Varda.

Nel 1969 Viva sposa il  video artista  franco-americano Michel Auder con il quale gira il film Keeping Busy.  Epica rimane la sua interpretazione a fianco di Carmelo Bene nel film Necropolis (1970) di Franco Brocani.

She was born Janet Susan Mary Hoffmann in Syracuse (New York, 1938), into a Roman Catholic family. She was given the name Viva by Andy Warhol. She appeared in several of Warhol’s films as Blue Movie, Nude Restaurant, Lonesome Cowboys, and was a frequent guest of the “factory”. After she began making films for other directors such as Woody Allen, Mel Gibson, Pierre Clémenti, Wim Wenders and Agnès Varda.

In the 1969 Viva married the video-artist Michel Auder. She acted for him in the film Keeping Busy.

Epic her role beside Carmelo Bene in Franco Brocani’s Necropolis (1970).

Troupe cinematografica che sta girando un film di fantascienza sulle coste del Portogallo è costretta a interrompere il lavoro per mancanza di fondi: il produttore americano è irreperibile. Dominato da un grigio senso della morte, alterna invenzioni suggestive a pause opache e irrisolte e si risolve con un epilogo splendidamente fulmineo a Los Angeles. È anche una riflessione sul cinema. Leone d’oro a Venezia 1982.

A film crew, that is shoting in Portugal a science ficton film, is interrupted for the lack of funds: the producer can not be found. Dominated by a sense of death, the story alterns suggestive inventions to matt breaks. It ends in a splendid epilogue in Los Angeles. The film is also a reflection about cinema. Leone d’oro in Venice in the 1982.

LONESOME COWBOYS

In a city of the west, a strange gang of thugs intertwined relationships of sex and violence. The names of the characters, Ramona and Julian, parodies those of Romeo and Juliet. The main idea of the film is a sort of western version of Romeo and Juliet.

In una città del west, una strana banda di malviventi intreccia rapporti di sesso e di violenza. I nomi dei personaggi, Ramona e Julian, parodizzano quelli di Romeo e Giulietta. L’idea principale del film è quella di una sorta di Giulietta e Romeo in versione western.

 

NECROPOLIS

Il film evoca, in un clima sepolcrale, personaggi fuori del tempo o della realtà – come Eliogabalo, Attila, King Kong, Frankenstein, Montezuma e la contessa Sanguinaria – i quali, attraverso deliranti dialoghi e misteriosi riti, vogliono esprimere le paure e le illusioni dell’umanità dalle origini ai giorni nostri.

The film evokes, in a sepulchral atmosphere, characters out of time or reality – as Elagabalus, Attila, King Kong, Frankenstein, Montezuma and the Blood Countess – who, through delirious dialogues and mysterious rites, want to express the fears and illusions of the origins of humanity nowadays.
