Presentazione del Cinématon
Dal 7 febbraio 1978 realizzo ritratti cinematografici, che chiamo Cinématon ( in ricordo dei photomaton, macchine fotografiche automatiche) di personalità artistiche e culturali (cineasti, giornalisti, attori, scrittori, filosofi, scultori etc. ). Personalità molto diverse tra di loro come Jean-Luc Godard, Wim Wenders, Joseph Losey, Sandrine Bonnaire, Juliet Berto, Philippe Sollers, Fernando Arrabal, Jacques Monory, Fréderic Mitterand, Sapho, Jean-PAul Aron, Samuel Fuller, Terry Gilliam, Gabrielle Lazure, Maruska Detmers, Jack Lang, Serguei Paradjanov o Jean-Francois Lyotard hanno accettato di prestarsi a questo gioco.
E’ impossibile contravvenire alle regole del Cinématon. Ecco qui i dieci comandamenti :
1.Una cinepresa su piede
2.Una cinepresa fissa
3.Primo piano del viso
4.Assenza di suono
5.Nessun cambiamento dovuto alla messa a punto
6.Nessuna modifica di inquadratura durante le riprese
7.Una durata di 3 minuti e 25 secondi
8.Una sola ripresa
9.Nessuna pausa durante le riprese e esclusione del montaggio
10.La persona ripresa è libera di fare quello che vuole
Gli obiettivi del Cinématon sono diversi. Consiste in particolare nel realizzare degli archivi sull’arte e principalmente sull’ambiente dello spettacolo in istanti in cui il soggetto ripreso propone un momento autentico, vero.
Ogni Cinématon é preceduto da tre cartoni d’introduzione con il numero cronologico della ripresa del ritratto, il nome del personaggio ripreso, la sua nazionalità, la sua attività professionale , la data l’ora e il luogo della ripresa.
Cinématon teoricamente non ha fine.
Since the 7th of February, 1978 I have made portraits on film of artistic and cultural personalities that I call Cinématon. Personalities of all sorts like Jean-Luc Godard, Wim Wenders, Joseph Losey, Sandrine Bonnaire, Juliet Berto, Philippe Sollers, Fernando Arrabal, Jacques Monory, Fréderic Mitterand, Sapho, Jean-Paul Aron, Samuel Fuller, Terry Gilliam, Gabrielle Lazure, Marushka Detmers, Jack Lang, Serguei Paradjanov or Jean-Francois Lyotard have accepted to play this game.
There are ten rules for the cinematron, ten commandments that must not be deviated from:
A camera on a tripod
A camera that does not move.
A close-up of a face.
No sound
No change in focal length.
No change in the framing.
Running-time of 3 minutes and 25 seconds.
One take only.
No cutting during the shooting and no editing.
The person that is being filmed can do whatever he/she wants.
The aims of the Cinématon are multiple: the basic aim is to consitute an archive on art and especially on the film, theater and entertainment scenes in those moments when the subject that is being filmed proposes a great moment of truth about herself or himself.
Each Cinématon is preceded by three introductory title cards with the chronological number of the shoooting of the portrait, the name of the person that is being filmed, his or her nationality, his profession, the date, hour and place of the shooting.
Cinématon has theoretically no end.
